Measure the usable space

Measure width, depth and height at the narrowest usable points. Cupboard hinges, skirting boards, handles and pipework can reduce the space that a headline dimension appears to offer.

Check access, not only capacity

An organiser can technically fit but still be awkward to use. Allow room to open drawers, lift lids and remove the largest item you plan to store.

Look for useful specifications

Useful listings state external and internal dimensions, material, assembly needs, care guidance and realistic limitations. Avoid buying where the scale or included components are unclear.

Keep the evidence current

Specifications, delivery and price claims should be checked again at the point of purchase. A useful guide does not replace current product information.
